I wanted to share with you a little bit about why we produced our summer reading program.
For me, it was due to the fact that of my students.
Throughout the years of teaching in my private learning center, parents would bring their kids to me that were behind in reading and spelling.

In some cases they were simply a bit behind, often they were method behind, and in some cases they were at grade level and simply wished to progress quicker.
In some cases this was since the students had learning difficulties like dyslexia and ADHD. Other times, this was just because the instructors did not teach all of the particular abilities required to check out.

The program does take some participation from a parent for grades K-2, however for grades 3-8, the majority of kids can do most activities in the program on their own.
